Yesterday I tuned randomly to a radio station just in time to listen to "The Talk of All the USA". A song that I´ve never heard before but which made me crack up instantly.
Check out the lyrics:
Julie puts her make up
on her face ev'ry day
she's a woman
yes I know
she's a woman
even so
she's the talk of all the USA
oh
yeah
the talk of all the USA.
I went out with Julie
to a party one night.
She's a woman...
I was mad I completely
turned blind
she wouldn't let me love her
and it blew my mind
Julie said man
I must be very sure
.
she told me that she'd
never been loved before.
Then I put my coat on
we decided to go.
She's a woman...
On the way back home
I tried with Julie again
She's a woman...
In the car with remote
controlled hands
I knew that little Julie
she would understand
when I got there before my very eyes
I'll tell you man
I got myself a big surprise.
Julie had that something
other girls didn't have.
She's a woman...
Conclusion: That´s what you get when you operate with "remote controlled hands".

Interesting lyric. Reminds me a little of Lola by the Kinks (British 60s band)
This is a nice movie about two lovers. The one was transexual. Worth seeing...

wow, you are really right: The song "Lola" by The Kinks is about a transsexual, too.
Seems like some of the songwriters in the 60s and 70s were really fascinated by us.
Thanks
Very sharp Victoria, I guess the name of the band says it all: The Middle of the Road, and by the way: did you know that the Glasgow singer Sally Carr is married with a German man many years now and is occasionally still performing there and in the surrounding countries?
hmmm, now that you mention it the name "Middle of the road" seems pretty obvious. But as far as I know they had only one song with lyrics like that.
I didn´t know the fact about Carr but I am not too surprised.
I rather wonder how many other hymns on transsexuals are out there that I haven´t heard about yet.
Has anybody any songs to add?
Sorry I don't know of other ezamples, you pointed me to these two songs "Lola" and "Talk of all the USA".
Probably there are a few more.
I remember Amanda Lear from the 70's, with her low voice and masculine features she was rumoured to be a ladyboy but I don't think it's true.
Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNrAXZEmpHI
By the way off topic a very nice movie, which I like about a ladyboy, is Kinky Boots see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434124
I dowloadeded itlast week to show it to my finacé and she liked it very much too..
I don't know how I never noticed the words to Lola. Thanks previous commenter for pointing that out!
This might be of interest as well. Candis Cayne was the first transgender actress to play a recurring transgender character in US prime time on the sitcom "Dirty Sexy Money". Wasn't a great show and so it only ran for a couple seasons but still... The role was more dignified than the "wacky comedy relief" role transgender people typically play on Thai sitcoms.
